About Jason Reiff
Vision
Jason Reiff is a New York City-based director, choreographer, performer, and theater educator whose work spans professional musical theater, university training, and the development of emerging artists.
Recent university work includes Guest Choreographer/Co-Director at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance and Guest Master Teacher at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
With a career of almost three decades and three continents, Jason is a multidisciplinary powerhouse whose work lives at the intersection of classical and contemporary theater, movement, and musical storytelling. From starring as Marius in Les Misérables and Tommy in The Who’s Tommy to teaching, directing and choreographing at schools like the University of Michigan and the University of Cincinnati (CCM), Jason brings a deep, scholarly understanding of craft to every rehearsal room.
Whether he is helming an Equity reading in Manhattan, staging a show regionally or teaching the next generation, Jason’s work is defined his life long love and commitment to the wide ranging world of theater, music and movement. He maintains a passion for developing new work along with the tireless search for inspiration in the beautiful and complex world we share.

Choreography
Vibrant, surprising, innovative and story driven, Jason Reiff's choreography ranges from the classic styles through modern influences up to and including present day contemporary movement. Known for building dynamic dance sequences and sculpting intricate plot inspired formations and tableau while inviting the skill and brilliance of every artist in the rehearsal space to participate in making something remarkable, and well worth their time, talent and heart.
Stage Direction
Immersive, visionary direction from intimate, action driven scene work to heart thumping spectacle, conceived with collective intentionality in a safe creative rehearsal space. Each company of performers is invited to prioritize detail, authenticity and universality in their collective exploration of the material.
